    Description

    Here is a beautiful Newcomb College Pottery bulbous vase decorated with a wild rose flower band at the shoulder in their signature matte blue and green glazes with pink flowers with yellowish centers.  Deeply carved with great contrast and color, and  a pleasing shape.   It measures 4 1/2 inches tall and 4 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest.  It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, or firing flaws.  Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, a conjoined AFS for artist Anna Frances Simpson, date code MU34 for 1922, and a conjoined JM for potter Joseph Meyer.  A fine example of the quintessential Arts & Crafts southern art pottery.  If you have any questions please click on our username or visit our store page and feel free to email through the gallery or call Jim Messineo at JMW Gallery.   <28235>
